Life Right Now – March 2017 Edition

When I recently asked on our Facebook Page what posts people would most like to see, I was overwhelmingly asked for posts that were more about who I am and what my life is like here in England. It seems that most people who read my blog are American and my being British means there are some differences! I am fascinated by American life and culture and so am happy to give you some insights into what my life is like here (although it is not really THAT exciting!!)

One way I will do this is through monthly posts entitled “Life Right Now” – here is the first post …

Today I am…

Working all day. I am a homebased telesales agent which means I do call centre work but at home. It’s not the best job in the world but I have definitey had worse! I am working from 12pm till 8pm and will be glad when it’s 8:05pm 🙂

Feeling…

Very tired. We have new next door neighbours who don’t seem to realsie that the walls in old Victorian houses are very thin. They had a get together in the room next to our bedroom last night that went on till 2am! I am not a morning person, I’m even worse when I have only had four hours sleep. Today is going to be a very long day.

Reading…

“Start Where You Are” by Chris Gardner. This book is written by the man that the film “The Pursuit Of Happyness” is based on. If you have seen the film you will know that this is the story of a man who hit rock bottom and went on to be sucessful in his chosen field. I love books that inspire and motivate me, even more so if they are written by someone who genuinely knows what struggle is. This book is exactly that.

Watching …

“The Pursuit Of Happyness”. Again, whenever I feel like it’s all too much effort and nothing will ever change, I watch this film and feel a renewal of strength and motivation. It’s such an amazing story and if you haven’t seen it, I really recommend it.

Eating…

Trim Healthy Mama style! I am working on a post this week that will cover my THM journey so far, but I am still on plan and just taking things day by day. I am also working on an extreme budget meal plan and will get that up as soon as possible.

Planning…

A very busy few weeks. This coming weekend is Mother’s day here in the UK and we have Martin’s family coming for a meal. They live about 30 miles away, which is a long way here in England, so we don’t get to see them very often. His sister and brother in law are coming too and we haven’t seen them in about a year, so that will be nice.
The day before, we are going to a model railway exhibition and then I am meeting a friend from work for the first time. When you work from home you rarely get a chance to meet your other colleagues, but this time I am doing!

Dreaming of…

Sorry to admit it but … Christmas! 40 weeks today is Christmas day and I love Christmas! For the last few years we haven’t had a good Christmas because we have been working or struggling. This year I want to get started early and plan to make good memories and enjoy the season.

Praying…

For wisdom to know what God is calling me to do. This feels like a constant prayer, but I know that he will guide me and show me his will.

Working On…

This blog! I have really missed it while I haven’t been able to get online so I am back planning and writing so I can get some good content up as soon as possible – please let me know in the comments if there are any posts you would specifically like to see.

Celebrating…

Spring finally starting and the clocks changing this coming weekend. Both things always make me feel much more productive and hopeful for the year ahead. This year seems to be going so quickly though and I don’t want to look ahead too far (Except for my Christmas dreaming 🙂 )

The spring blossom is just starting here – Spring is finally arriving!

Grateful For…

Getting through each day. As I explained in yesterdays post, things are not easy at the moment, but I know that God has got this and I can trust Him.

And finally tomorrow I will be…

Working again, but hopefully after a lot more sleep!

On my to-do list this month?

Spring Cleaning the whole house ready for visitors.
Organisisng my new budget planner (post coming soon!)

Thank you so much for sharing your life with me. It’s a brave thing to do and a special gift to condense so many precious minutes, hours, nights and days into a very enjoyable synopsis. Hoping your neighbor thingy gets better. Been there done that…not pleasant!!! Until your next post…..
