The Bible For A Year Project 2017 – Overview
After my post from a few days ago here , I decided to go ahead and start a new project for 2017 – The Bible For A Year!
The idea is that we stop turning to other books for inspiration, advice, ideas and fulfilment and instead turn to THE Book!
If we truly want ‘Life In All Its Fullness’, which is what this blog was created for, then we need to know what that looks like directly from God, not from others interpretations and ideas.
What I plan to do is to read the Bible daily in a reading plan style but then when I feel the need for advice, ideas or I have questions on what I should do, I will turn to the Bible for the answers before anywhere else. This two part aproach means that I get a good knowledge of the Bible from the indepth reading, but also get to serach and study certain parts in more depth for answers that relate to me.
I invite you to come and join me on this journey and you can start at any time. The reading section will take two forms – The Bible In 90 Days and The Bible In A Year. This is so that whatever time you have or stage of faith you are at, there is something for everyone. This also means that for myself, my husband wants to do the Bible in a year, but I want to study more intensively so I can do both. If you miss the start of this Bible in 90 days challenge then don’t worry, I plan to do it again when this one ends! Please choose which reading plan you think would be best for you and join us in the relevant Facebook groups if you would like to chat about your reading experiences.
I will be blogging my way through the project, sharing about my reading experiences and blogging about the issues and situations I turn to the Bible for advice on. I have already been thinking of different changes I want to make in my life for the new year and so have a list of subjects I need to look up asap! I am curious to see how what the Bible says differs to what I think I should do. I am also very keen to see how following and learning God’s word will make changes in my life.
I hope you will join me, whether it is on the 1st January or at any point during this year.
