You may have already looked at cakes and baking when you were looking at snacks, but today we are going to focus on deserts / puddings / cakes / yummy!

Being British, we are used to having something sweet after every meal.  I imagine that every culture is the same really, we all need a bit of cake every now and again! Today you are going to be looking at how to incorporate sweet treats into the plan while making sure that they aid and not hinder you.

At first, baking can seem a little difficult on the Trim Healthy Mama plan, especially if you have previously been a big baker and know how to bake with off plan ingredients. Products like the baking blend which is sold by Trim Healthy Mama can be really helpful, but it can also be good to get familiar with other baking flours like coconut flour, almond flour and know what they do and how to use them.

The cookbook is a great place to start as it covers lots of different recipes and many of them are marked as NSI (No special ingredients). The forums are also a great place as more and more women are experimenting with ways to make old favourites and get their cakes and deserts to be on plan.

Today, think about your favourite cakes or puddings and again, have a look and see if there is an on plan version available. If not, have a search on the trusty Pinterest again and see if there is anything new and simple that appeals to you. Try to start with things that don’t need lots of special ingredients as these are the easiest to do.

A great basic to master is the Muffin in a mug or MIM. Try doing to search on google for THM MIM and you will be shocked how many varieties there are! This is a really simple cake recipe that you cook in the microwave in less than a minute and is a great way to quickly satisfy a sweet craving.

If you are someone who previously used to eat a lot of sweet things, then getting this part right can make the difference between staying on plan and struggling. Try adding a few recipes to your recipe notebook today and have fun experimenting and baking as soon as possible.
