Plan For Your Weakspots (Bad Days, Sad Days and Busy Days etc.)

We all have bad days sometimes. Rough day at work, problems at home, financial worries, or even just really busy days. These days can be really difficult and these are the days that is can be hardest to stay on plan.
When you’re sad or stressed, you may instinctively reach for food for comfort and fail to make healthy choices. It may make you feel better for a little while, but long term is in not really going to help and we do all know that. It doesn’t stop us doing it though!
Today we’re going to plan ahead for those days when you just don’t want to make much effort. Sit down with a pen and paper and think about how you react when you’re sad or having a bad day. What could you do that would mean you were able to stay on plan and make healthier choices? It might mean making sure there is always a couple of Trim Healthy Mama safe meals in the freezer that you can just pull out and heat on the days when you just can’t cook. It may mean having a secret stash of on plan snacks that you can reach for when you needs a little treat.
It might also mean just knowing that eating off plan is not the end of the world and you can get back on plan again in three hours time. It doesn’t mean that you can do that everyday, but sometimes you just need to be compassionate to yourself and remind yourself that you are doing the best you can, that Trim Healthy Mama is a way of eating for life and that sometimes life gets in the way of our best intentions.
So make a plan today to make sure that those hard days are covered and you know what to do when the comfort cravings sneak in. Not only will being able to stay on plan make you feel you have accomplished something at a difficult time, but the health benefits and lack of blood sugar spikes will make you feel better too. And if you end up going off plan, just get back on board at the next meal and give yourself some compassion.
